Making a Contract with Us
When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods and we will send you an email acknowledging the order.Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods, we will e-mail you again to confirm that the goods have been despatched and that a contract has been made between us.We will not take payment from you until we have accepted your order.
In the event that the goods are no longer available, or there is a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this. You will therefore not receive an e-mail confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.
If the goods are not available, we may offer to supply you with substitute goods or place your request as a back order by email; should you accept this offer, we require an e-mail confirming this.
How to place an order
Orders are made by selecting the items you wish to purchase and clicking the “Buy” button. Your purchase is now added to your online shopping cart. You may then continue shopping or if you are ready to check out, enter any promotional vouchers or gift vouchers you may have and complete the Country, Current and Payment fields. Then click the ‘Check Out’ button.
From this point onwards, all information is transmitted securely. If you have shopped with us before and have created a user account, enter your username and password and click “Login”. If you are a new customer, enter the required information and click the “Submit” button. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required and cannot be left blank. In addition, certain characters (such as '&', '$', '%') are considered invalid and you will receive an error should you try to use these in any of the input boxes.You now have the opportunity to review your order details before entering your payment details and finally placing your order.
Delivery
We do not charge for delivery, except for Special Offers.
Next Day Delivery is normally available (excluding Highlands, Islands, Ireland and overseas) for orders placed before 1300 hrs Monday-Thursday. Delivery times will vary for customers in the Highland, Islands and overseas, but customers will be notified of the expected delivery times. Delivery times do not include Bank Holidays. However, please remember that our courier service will do their best to deliver on time, but we cannot guarantee this service. We require the customer to provide a contact telephone number when ordering in the event of our courier experiencing any delivery difficulty.
We normally despatch orders within 24 hours of receipt and will e-mail accordingly.
If the goods are lost or damaged in transit, please let us know promptly, ideally within 24 hrs
Cancellation and returns
You can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after delivery. To do this, please e-mail us or write to us including your name, address and order details.You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief explanation will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.
If you cancel, you must return the goods to us at your own expense. You are responsible for the risk of loss or damage when you return goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value.If you fail to return the goods, we will collect them, and we will charge you the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and resulting in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.
This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights — for example, if goods are faulty or wrongly described.
Faulty goods
If there is a problem with the goods, please contact us. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights.
Changes to these terms
These terms were last changed on 3 November 2010. Previous versions of our standard terms and conditions can be obtained by emailing info@sharpes.net. These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply to future orders.
